Collision brings together the work of Emma Woolley and Tara Harris in a shared exploration of intent rather than style.
While their visual languages differ, both artists are driven by a similar instinct, to explore inner worlds, emotional states, and imagined spaces that sit between reality and memory. The exhibition grew from a close reading of each other’s work, noticing overlapping concerns around presence, absence, and the spaces we carry internally.
Collision is not about aesthetic similarity. It is about alignment. It asks what happens when two practices meet through shared questions rather than shared outcomes, allowing tension, contrast, and resonance to exist side by side.
Emma Woolley and Tara Harris are contemporary painters whose practices explore interior experience through figurative and imagined landscapes.
Woolley’s work focuses on intimacy, connection, and the emotional space between people. Her paintings often centre on the human face and body as sites of quiet intensity, vulnerability, and closeness.
Harris creates dreamlike environments that draw on memory, subconscious imagery, and altered states. Her paintings feel both familiar and unsettled, occupying spaces that shift between the real and the imagined.
Together, their work holds a shared sensitivity to emotional truth and inner narrative, even as their visual approaches diverge.
