This painting sits within The Space Between Us as part of an ongoing investigation. It is not about two people. Underneath it is about me reconnecting with myself.
The forms in the painting are not characters. They behave more like beings, or entities. Different parts of the same presence, coming close, pulling apart, and meeting again. I am interested in what happens in that in-between space, where attention shifts and something internal starts to realign.
The space between the beings becomes active. It carries tension and movement, almost like air you can feel. Hair is used as vibration rather than description. The marks work rhythmically, responding to proximity and pressure rather than appearance.
I leave the drawing and changes visible. Lines, edits, and interruptions stay in the painting as evidence of searching. The surface holds that process, rather than hiding it.
This work is not about resolution. It stays with the moment of reconnection while it is still fragile, unsettled, and ongoing.
